Re: Information on Occupy Chicago Movement
With the growing support and size of the Occupy movement, but specifically the section in our home town of Chicago; I decided to go to one of the general assemblies on Monday December 5th and interview supporters of the movement. I found that many people were frustrated at not just the whole national government, but Illinois's government and Chicago politics. Many supporters believe "corruption seems to persist and even flourish despite threats, scores of arrests, administrative sanctions, prosecutions, organizational reshuffling, stings, undercover operations, intensive monitoring, and operational initiatives to strengthen central authority and the chain of command" (Merriner).
For my upcoming article I decided to cover this part of the movement and do an analysis of it, both the supporters side of the movement and corporate/government side. Both sides have compelling support for the reason for the economic collapse and this article will show both sides to that. Since I was not able to get any interviews with corporate employees or government employees, I will be basing their beliefs off of research I have done and other quotes I have read.
I will be writing this article with an intention to get responses back to the office from both sides of the issue. I will be leaving my email, our
office mail box number, and a website link to a few survey questions about the movement.
If you feel that there are some things I could change up for the article or any suggestions or questions, send an email to Sean Miller in the
journalist and writers department.
